Donate Trash

        Talking about trash, nobody wants to get involved. Trash is as dirty as sinful mind of human being. We can remove the sinful mind by giving thanks. To give thanks, we do not need to do it by only money but do so by giving away trash that we do not need to others.

Watchaichumpol Chanasongkam school is a Buddhist school. This school has philosophy of encouraging the students to be better persons. This green campaign encouraged the students to love and improve the environment by recycling trash. In 2010, the project was created to emphasize that trash can be valuable and encourage the students to do good work.

We started from schools. Teachers, students, parents, and community all planed together for this project for everybody to have opportunities to do good work without spending money. The students brought trash from home and separate it to certain kinds and sold it for recycling. The money they earned from selling trash would be collected for scholarship for good and needy students. Everybody at school did this every Thursday and they dressed in white to make a notion of doing good work.

On Thursday everyone brought trash that can be recycled from their home and put it in the bag of each grade. Then, the student workers contacted the trash buyers and recorded each grade’s income in each week. Finally, the benefits would be collected as scholarship for good and needy students.

The result of this project is everybody realized that they can change dirty trash to be valuable and they can do good work without spending money. When they do this project regularly, they will become appreciated, clean, organized, trust worthy, frugal, and harmonious. These characters make peace in the world.

We also have a future plan to expand the project to the community where people realize that they can do good work by recycling trash.
